False Alarm

Hi, I’m Heather Stallings, CPA turned writer. My writing is drawn heavily from real life, and I plan to blog about the inspiration for my characters, travels with my crazy husband, and life in the Silicon Valley Outback. I’m a city girl, and the woods are insane. We currently have a skunk den in our front yard. My girlfriend saw a mountain lion jump her fence as she backed out of her driveway with the kids in the car—and kept right on driving.

The director’s cut of my first novel False Alarm, a female Jerry Maguire story, will be out July 31st . Kate McCabe, my alter ego, is trying to make it in the boys’ world of professional sports management.

My first podcast of False Alarm is up on iTunes—please listen FREE and get the cheap kindle version or the paperback on Amazon. I’d love to hear your comments—please post here—and I’d be thrilled if you’d review the book on Amazon, Smashmouth or Goodreads.

Here’s how the Seattle Times explains False Alarm:

Kate McCabe is a Type A gal, going nuts trying to do it all. Now her husband wants to quit his job as a lawyer to become a fireman! That means she gets to take care of the two kids . . . and work full-time managing the office in a sports management firm and be a surrogate mother/ housekeeper/gofer to the partners in the firm, who refuse to take her seriously. Enter Pedro, Latin super-jock smoothie, loaded with dough and needing financial help. Can she land him? Will he land her?”
